The SRA AML Annual Report 25/26 was released on 22 October 2026. In a year where we have seen so many law firms fined for AML failings this report makes for some interesting reading.

What do the figures look like?

  • The SRA carried out 966 AML compliance assessments with firms during the reporting period – increase from the 864 carried out in the previous reporting period
  • 42% of files reviewed lacked a client/matter risk assessment
  • £2,003,759 was the total number of fines agreed from 145 Regulatory Settlement Agreements
  • 9% of the firms engaged with in this reporting period were non compliant!

In this session we will look at the facts, figures and findings from the report and ways in which we can improve.
